Currently, we tend to put a fingerprint lock or face unlock on our smartphones to keep our private conversations safe from intruding eyes of our annoying friends but now we can simply lock the WhatsApp application altogether by enabling the new Touch ID and Face ID feature. The latest WhatsApp feature is now available on iPhone 5s or later while on iOS 9 and above starting from today. Sadly, the feature has not been rolled out for Android devices as of now, but once the testing is complete, we shall see the feature on Android phones as well.

How to enable Touch ID and Face ID on WhatsApp for iPhone

  • Open the WhatsApp application on your iPhone.
  • To enable Touch ID and Face ID feature, head to settings.
  • Then, tap on the Account option and navigate to the ‘Privacy’ button where the Screen lock feature will be available.
  • Then simply turn on Touch ID or Face ID as per the requirement.
  • Further, you can also select the amount of time such as after a minute, 15 minutes or even an hour before the Touch ID or Face ID is prompted after WhatsApp is closed.

WhatsApp is rolling out its latest authentication feature for all beta users. The authentication feature is a part of other new features which WhatsApp will be starting to enable their beta users after opening the first official public beta program. The latest authentication or unlock feature is available in the new beta update published through TestFlight beta program. The new update now adds fingerprint lock to the WhatsApp application on the iPhone. The new beta feature rollout was spotted by WABetainfo.

If the user is on the iPhone X or above, then FaceID unlock is available. However, for iPhone below that, TouchID or passcode is available. In the WhatsApp settings, if users choose Screen Lock, they can choose to start the authentication feature for their devices. Starting the feature will, however, still allow users to reply to received messages straight from the locked screen notifications and also answer WhatsApp calls without any authentication.

The user will have to configure the TouchID or FaceID unlock feature on WhatsApp. After the configuration is done, users will have to shut down the app and restart it again. After that users can authenticate their identity in order to use WhatsApp. If the iPhone TouchID fails, users can also log in via passcode. For iPhone X, and above, the FaceID works.

When the biometric unlock security feature is enabled on WhatsApp, the preview snapshot of the app will go empty and will show nothing. In terms of privacy, the fingerprint and the face unlock data are encrypted in your iPhone. WhatsApp will not get your security data as it is managed on phone-level access and extraction of this information is not possible. Hence it could be said that the fingerprint unlock feature for WhatsApp is safe to be used.

Dish TV Channels Selection Process: Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has introduced a new framework for DTH cable television providers in India. These new rules have come into effect from today, that is February 1. Subscribers were required to select at least 100 channels before the deadline. The subscribers who didn’t select their channels till the deadline, have had their channels pre-selected by the respective DTH providers with regard to the closest channels that resembled their earlier plan.

Dish TV has listed all of the channels along with their list price on their official website according to TRAI’s new guidelines. If you haven’t selected, which channels you want, here’s how you will be able to do it.

How to choose channels on Dish TV

For selecting channels that any Dish TV subscriber wants to watch, they can log in to the company’s official website or mobile application with their registered mobile number or subscriber ID. The company will then send an OTP to the customers registered mobile number, which can be used to sign in.

Once the Dish TV DTH subscriber is logged in to the website or the mobile app they will then get to see their current DTH service details, like the amount of money they have in their digital wallet, plans and much more. There they can then choose between three broad categories – Dish Combo, Channels, Bouquets.

If the user decides to pick all their channels manually, they will be required to select a minimum of 100 channels to keep their connection live. HD (High Definition) channels are counted as two SD (Standard Definition) channels, so if the user selects 50 HD channels, he can leave the rest and enjoy those 50 channels. Subscribers can filter their search by selecting a language or category like English, Infotainment, Kids.

The price will constantly keep on updating in the user’s cart. The network capacity fee (NCF) has been set by TRAI and is the same for all operators. The NCF is Rs 130 along with 18 per cent GST, the total of which amounts to Rs 153. There are many channels like Star Plus and Sony, for which the subscribers will have to pay an extra fee, due to these being marked as paid channels.

NCF per 25 extra channels over 100 basic channels, will require the consumer to pay Rs 25 extra. All DD channels are mandatory and can’t be removed from a customers list.

WhatsApp has released a new beta version of its Android app for the chat app users, and the latest release brings a useful feature along. The WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.19.33 adds the ability to download a single sticker from a pack. Earlier, a WhatsApp user was forced to download the entire sticker pack even if the person just wanted to use a single sticker from that pack. There was no option to download one sticker individually and leave out the rest. This download single sticker feature has now been made live with the latest beta update and is set to come in the stable update soon.

1. WhatsApp updates its Android beta app to version 2.19.33
2. It introduced download single sticker option in the latest beta
3. WhatsApp stable app to get the feature in next Google Play update.

In order to use this download single sticker option, you must be using the latest WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.19.33. After downloading the update, open the in-app WhatsApp Stickers Store and long press on a sticker in a not-yet-downloaded stickers pack. WhatsApp will then prompt to ask if you want to save that sticker as favourite. It will show you the download size of the single sticker and offer a download option at the bottom for saving the sticker in the app.

This new feature is very useful, especially for those who want an uncluttered stickers menu with only the relevant ones showing up. It also saves precious data for all the limited pack users. This feature was spotted by WhatsApp beta news tracker WABetaInfo. The website also states that this feature will be available in the next Google Play stable release with the build number 2.19.33+.

Furthermore, the tipster notes that the WhatsApp for Android 2.19.33 beta update also indicates that the WhatsApp Pay feature may be coming to the United States soon. Previously, the tipster had claimed that it is also set to arrive in Mexico as well. As a part of his remarks during Facebook's Q4 earnings call, Mark Zuckerberg revealed that the company will roll out Payments on WhatsApp in select other markets this year.

WhatsApp Payments was first introduced in India in February last year, first in the beta version of its Android and iOS apps, later in the stable version. The feature itself still remains in beta and hasn't been rolled out to all users of the chat app in the country because of the regulatory hurdles.

There are more than a billion WhatsApp users and the Facebook-owned platform has become one of the most preferred instant messaging app in the world. On the other hand, WhatsApp also has a plethora of useful features which make the overall user experience better in every sense. However, as we are connecting with more and more people through WhatsApp, the one problem that a majority of users are facing is related to their device storage and cellular data.

You might be one of those users who get a lot of messages in their WhatsApp chats most of them being media files such as images, videos, recordings and more. Since all of this is downloaded in your smartphone, these media files from WhatsApp take up a lot of space in the device’s internal storage. Moreover, these files also consume a lot of cellular data since WhatsApp auto-downloads all these files.

Nothing is private in the day of the Internet – and that goes for your personal, even deleted WhatsApp messages as well.

Currently, the app allows users to delete specific messages sent either to a group or an individual in the “Delete for everyone” option, replacing the message with a “This message was deleted” in the chat. However, there are a few caveats even with this tool. For starters, both you and the recipient must be using the latest version of WhatsApp. Even then, recipients may see your message before it’s deleted or if the deletion was not successful – and that’s only if you delete it within an hour after sending.

Deleted WhatsApp Messages Can Be Restored - Here’s How

Deleted WhatsApp Messages Can Be Restored - Here’s How
Deleted WhatsApp Messages Can Be Restored - Here’s How
Here’s the catch: Deleted messages are actually stored on your phone and can be recovered using the app’s recovery feature. While chat histories aren’t stored on WhatsApp’s servers, the platform says messages are backed up and stored in a variety of places that aren’t protected by WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption.

For iPhone users, chat histories are stored in the iCloud via an automatic backup option or can be done so manually at any time by going to WhatsApp > Settings> Chats > Chat Backup > Back Up Now. Recovering your chat history from iCloud is even easier. After verifying that a backup exists, simply delete and reinstall WhatsApp from the App store, verify your phone number, and follow the on-screen prompts to restore your chat history. Perhaps more unnerving, the app has an option for you to email yourself a copy of the entire chat history.

Android users are able to backup chats and media to Google Drive, making it even easier to transfer any data stored to a new device – and it doesn’t even count towards Google Drive's storage quota. Similarly, information can be automatically or manually backed up by opening the app and hitting Menu > Settings > Chats > Chat Backup and tapping Back up to Google Drive and selecting a frequency other than Never. Restoring from Google Drive is just as easy. Again, just uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp, verify your phone number, and hit Restore.

Just a few days ago, Facebook announced plans to merge WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. Founder Mark Zuckerberg said the three apps will remain standalone and separate but that users will be able to message each other between the three apps without having to switch platforms, requiring every communication to be encrypted from end-to-end. Currently, WhatsApp is the only app of the three that has this as a default option.

Facebook is planning to merge its three messaging services—WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram’s private messages—into a single messaging platform.

This back-end merger makes sense on paper and breaks down communication walls between the various Facebook-owned apps. Whatever the final product looks like, it will reportedly be end-to-end encrypted, and each of the apps will remain a separate service with its own icon in your phone’s app library. But the plan is to have all three messaging services using the same internal, cross-platform chat service.

That said, even with the promises of encryption and cross-platform support, WhatsApp had some serious privacy concerns in the past, and Facebook doesn’t exactly have a clean rap sheet when it comes to user privacy and data.

As a result, some users may not be happy about this messaging merger. (And some of us just don’t want to be tied to the ecosystems of big companies like Facebook.) So let’s look at alternatives to WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger that will let you make a clean escape from Facebook’s upcoming chat platform altogether.

All communication in the Signal app is end-to-end encrypted, and you can set up timers for messages to be auto-deleted. The dev team has also been working to reduce the amount of required sender information necessary for message delivery. Like many of the other apps listed here, Telegram provides end-to-end encryption for all communication and auto-deletion settings. It lets users send text and media messages, and supports group messages that can include up to a whopping 200,000 people in one chat thread.

Telegram’s cloud-based chat runs on globally-distributed servers, which Telegram claims can deliver messages faster than any other messaging app available. This also means you can sync messages across all your devices, and you get unlimited storage for your shared media. If you’re a developer, the Telegram API is entirely open-source and free to use.

Telegram is available for Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Windows desktop, Linux (both 32 and 64-bit), macOS, and also offers a native web version of the app.

As the name implies, GroupMe is a group messaging service that provides cross-platform chat. It’s owned by Skype (which is owned by Microsoft), so it’s not open-source like the other services on this list. It’s also subject to the same data-collection practices as all Microsoft products, and it doesn’t feature encryption—nor many of the security features of the other apps we’ve included. However, what sets GroupMe apart is its focus on group chat, as well as a few other fun features.

GroupMe allows users to share videos, images, and documents, which can be viewed via a “gallery” mode that shows all the media shared within a group’s history. You can even send direct messages to specific users within a group. GroupMe also supports location sharing, as well as secondary features such as “liking” messages and custom app-based emoji sets.

There are Android, iOS, and Windows GroupMe apps, and a web-based chat client. However, there is also an SMS-based version of GroupMe that you can use without needing an app—or even a smartphone. Users text specific commands to the GroupMe phone number to create and carry on group chats. This text-based system even allows you to manage your group and change chat settings. It’s a handy feature, but keep in mind that this functionality is only available to those in the US.

Paytm is indeed a Payment Gateway. And after learning about How To Use Paytm Postpaid Money To Wallet (In Hindi), you also need to take a look at – What is a payment gateway and how does it work?

A payment gateway is a software application that payment service providers use to process payments or online purchases.

Originating on a merchants website. It acts as an interface between the merchant’s website and a payment processing bank known as an acquirer.

Generally, a gateway can be used for many types of payment methods but for the purpose of this guide on media, we will solely focus on online credit card payment.

The gateway encrypts sensitive credit card details to ensure that information is passed securely between the customer, the merchant and the acquiring bank.

When a customer purchases a product or service on a website that is connected to a payment gateway, the gateway performs a variety of tasks to process the transaction.

Once the customer places their order on the merchant website they choose to check out or pay and are then redirected to a payment page to enter their credit card details.

If the merchant is fully compliant with the necessary security standards, the payment page can be generated on the merchant servers and the cart information collected and passed on to the payment application in a secure way.

The payment page can also be generated by the payment gateway application itself. And information can be collected there. Either way, the card and transaction details are gathered and stored on the secure surface of the payment gateway.

From there, the payment gateway processes the transaction and sends all information to the issuing bank for approval via the acquirer and the relevant card scheme.

Once the payment has been confirmed by the card schemes, the payment gateway sends the approved transaction bank to the merchant’s website and then the merchant informs the customer that the purchase has been successfully completed.

Of course, the payment performs a lot of other tasks as well, but when it comes to credit card payments, these are the main steps to processing a transaction. Cable ease of this entire process only takes around three seconds.

It took us about ten times the amount of time to explain it to you. Payment gateways add a whole lot of value throughout this process. Here are some of the key features.

A payment gateway is the most common way for a merchant to connect to the payment system. Only the largest merchants are able to connect to an acquiring bank directly. Gateway transaction fees are very small compare to the advantages they offer in helping a merchant connect to an acquirer, manage the business and control the risks associated with accepting online payments.

A good payment gateway will provide the merchant with many customizable reporting options which help the merchant to manage their business. A good payment gateway will be able to get connected and able to process many different payment methods that may not yet be offered by the merchant. A merchant pay has its own highly secured PCI DSS level 1 compliant gateway.

You need to stay update today to all the changes in the payments environment to grow sales in the right manner. There are three new technologies everyone is talking about – EMV Chip Card, Apply Pay and Nearfield Communication (NFC).

EMV stands for Euro Card, Master Card and Visa and this is the gold standard for payment transaction processing. Coming to the US in 2015, EMV chip cards of a small microchip embedded improving security by making a harder to use cards fraudulently.

Instead of a cashier swiping a credit or debit card, the customer will either dip the card into an EVM slot or top the card on the sales terminal. In 2014, credit card fraud losses topped 10 billion US dollars. In typically the card issuer was held responsible. But on October 1st, 2015, everything changes.

The risk and liability are going to shift to the merchants if they are not set up to accept EMV transactions. Fraudulent Chip Transactions on non-EMV compliant terminals will put merchants business and reputations at risk.

So, by embracing EMV Chip Card Technology, they will be protecting their business from this liability and their customers will feel more secure about doing business with them. To become compliant, the merchant will need to make hardware changes as most terminals used currently are not ready for EMV payments.

Apply Pay is Apple’s mobile wallet which combines the simplicity of mobile payments with the confidence of keeping your personal information secure. It allows consumers with certain iOS devices to store the credit card or debit card details securely in digital form.

And, then use these devices to make in-store in-app or e-commerce purchases effectively replacing plastic credit cards. Instead of physically taking your credit card out and handing it to a stranger in a store or restaurant, Apple Pay enables contactless payments by tapping a couple of times and hovering the phone to your designated register screen for one or two seconds.

To accept Apple Pay in a store, a merchant needs an NFC capable device and thanks to an encryption system that creates a designated code for each user’s credit card. Merchants actually never get the customer credit card number. Just the encryption code necessary to complete the transaction.

Those safeguards along with apple fingerprint identification make apply face safer and more secure than traditional payment methods. Near Field Communication or NFC is a set of standards for smartphones mobile devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching them together or bringing them no more than a few inches apart.

Here’s how it works in a retail store example. The customer wants to pay with their mobile wallet stored in their smartphone. Tapping the phone makes it the initiator device that uses a current to create a radio frequency in turn.

That powers a passive target such as the retailer’s NFC enabled terminal that will accept payment.

The smartphone in the terminal effectively talks to each other to exchange information securely about a transaction. This technology is widely embraced among millennials as it enables contactless payments from a mobile device.

That is significant because of the added convenience and security of payments. So, what does all this mean to the sales agent?

Where there are big changes there are always great opportunities. Most important thing is to start calling business owners and highlight the benefits of switching to EMV chip card.

Apple Pay and NFC ready terminals to prevent the shift of liability to them reduce counterfeit fraud, increase security, increase revenue through acceptance of international visitors cards and support the way customers want to pay. Better yet, a great way to start the dialogue with merchants about EMV and Apply Pay acceptance is a free terminal programme.

This will allow you to bring up the big talking points for 2015. If you don’t, someone else will. If having any questions regarding How To Use Paytm Postpaid Money To Wallet (In Hindi), do let us know in the comment box below.
